UNDERTONE Global is a streetwise umbrella organization headed by creative producer Tone Swep. Since its establishment in 2004, the hybrid media company has specialized in creative project development – from film and television to corporate product content, artist packaging, literary non-fiction, market planning, ad slogans and ad creation.

 

Startups, tech companies, lifestyle brands, pro sports apparel companies, music labels, cause organizations, automotive, telecom, NGO’s and independent film companies comprise UNDERTONE’s core client base by industry. The company trademark is HighBrowUrban: an affluent and stylish – while street smart and fearlessly edgy – production approach.

 

In 2007, UNDERTONE launched an ambitious new division in Moxie Street Media, a marketing firm & fad agency focused chiefly on MarCom creation and engagement marketing collaborations within the entertainment, sports, and apparel industries. Later that year, the company announced its in-house urban analytics and inner-city R&D wing – SIX13 Media Research Group. The business intelligence imprints focus is the market research, data mining, and statistical analysis of UNDERTONE’s many client, partner, and affiliate projects. Moxie Street Media (MXE) is owned by UNDERTONE and operates as one third of the companies MXE/HighBrowUrban/DOPEMAG brand group. MXE Vice President, Esha Vang, heads international operations and business affairs.

 

In 2010, UNDERTONE announced a hot new media product in DOPE Magazine (pure DOPE™) a boutique-stylized print publication. DOPE MAG features exclusive interviews with popular “young, fly and affluent” music artists, models, actors, athletes, and entertainers; along with coverage of global industry events such as London, Miami and Tokyo Fashion Weeks (2011), and NBA All Star Weekend (LA). In the Spring of 2011, following the success of its five previous “Diamond Editions” – DOPE MAG released the now international cult-favorite “DOPE Magazine Japan” (DMJP), a Tokyo-centric exclusive with Hip-Hop group Ice Dynasty. DMJP was published as a 10-page sectional within the “Ocean Avenue” issue (#006).

 

DOPE MAG is also in the planning stages of the “DOPE SPOT” – a street boutique and media center. The DOPE SPOT is likely to launch 2013.
